Gothic Love Song

This is to you…the one who will never know, the one who knows too much and the one left behind.

Together, we shall lie under weeping willow trees, heavy with spanish moss. We will feel the damp of the grass, the slight give of the Earth upon our backs. The night sky will roll around us as our breath creates a garden of sighs. The smell of Earth and flesh intoxicate. There are no words now, nothing to say that will ever come close. The emptiness of failure is filled again and again with the exquisite opening of flowers. Colors swirl and wash our eyes with rain soaked understanding. Every lie is a truth now, all things forgiven.

In this moment, in this evening, I am again beautiful. All my scars have smoothed out into skin that has never been ripped apart by pain and sickness. My breasts once again whole and flesh smooth..nothing to hide from or to hide. My eyes are once again filled with light and life, here in this time with you.

You, the Forest spins in your soul as the night creatures speak. You know them, you understand them as the scent of pine and sage seeps from your pores. You breathe my name and smile. Your stretched muscles show silver in the night. I am at once safe and sacred with you, your strength reassuring. Your failures and loss mean nothing now, here in this moment. Your eyes fill with light, with wanting. The world melts away and you are your truest self, here in this time with me.

This darkness free’s us fully. The iron fences provide stability for the creeping vines, night blooming Jasmine dances softly across the skin. Magnolia blossoms drift gently to Earth in an age old love song, one that we take a small part of, if only for a few moments.

Here, together, our ghosts keep their distance. Our demons let us rest…as the sun begins to rise. They will all be waiting. We know that. Still we go forward, into the day, away from our true selves.
